I received my installation yesterday – The technician somehow connected the control panel to my living room light switch so now if I turn off the switch the control panel loses AC power. I called customer service, and they had no current solution nor offered an apology – Instead offered a technician to come out ONE week later. Terrible service + definitely not the company I expected.

Equipment is not working properly at home. When the guy set it up he said that it was having some problems but it should soon clear up. Problems never cleared up. We purchased a home that had Vivint already installed. We contacted Vivint offering proof of ownership of the property, seeking to reset the security codes that grant access to the front door and garage. Vivint told us that they will not reset the system, which will leaves our home open to anyone who previously knew the door code (which were used by many real estate agents when the house was for sale, and leaves us with the cost of having to replace the electronic locks and repair of the walls where the system has been installed.

Vivint stated they called my Father in 2017 and he agreed over the phone to allow them to monitor his home. My Father was already being monitored by Brinks since 2016. Not only has Vivint NEVER provided monitoring of his home but they have sent him a paper bill every month since 2017. My Father has paid it faithfully by check every month. My Father’s not only paying Vivint but he was slammed in December 2019 by door solicitors and he’s now paying 3 different alarm companies. I’ve spoken to Vivint twice and sent email once. After installation the alarms fell off my doors. The door lock stopped working. When I called to have it repaired they said I had to pay for them to come out. It was supposed to be free anytime I had an issue. So with the equipment faulty, after about another year of paying, I stopped. They now want to sue me!

A salesman came to my house this afternoon unannounced. He did not tell me his name, but said that he had seen my Vivint doorbell and wanted to make sure everything was working alright. I told him everything was fine but I have to keep the alarm on “stay mode” since my cat will sometimes set off the motion sensor in the living room. The motion sensors are not supposed to go off for anything less than 50lbs, and my cat weighs no more than 12. He asked if he could come look at my panel, which took all of 20 seconds.
