How to File an Insurance Claim with DirecTV

The website is very simple. If you purchased the DirecTV protection plan, you have to enter your protection plan Premier account information including first name, last name, zip code on the account, and the mobile phone number associated with the account. 

It is very easy to start a new claim.

  3.  Confirm your contact information
  4.  Submit your details


When you file an insurance claim, you might have to pay a deductible.

With DirecTV, if your device requires eligible service, the deductible has to be paid and received before they will provide that service.

There is no deductible for services rendered on:

  • Routers and modems
  • Remote controls (original)
  • Monitors
  • Keyboards
  • Mice

There is a $50 average deductible for services rendered on:

  • Personal computers
  • Laptops
  • Televisions
  • All-in-one home theater systems
  • Tablets

Note: Presently, you might be able to have this waived because of COVID-19 hardships. You will need to log in to your account and read more about whether this applies to you here.

You can regularly check on the status of your claim using the service request number and your ZIP code.
