Step-by-step guide to understanding your internet bill

Accessing your bill

There are three ways you can view your Frontier invoice. This can be done online, by mail or through the app. Be sure to have your username and password ready to gain access if you are viewing the invoice online.

There are a couple of things you should keep in mind when reviewing your bill. If it is your first bill, it will be higher than your next bill for a number of reasons.

  1. Frontier charges for the first full month of service in advance. (Therefore the second month’s service is normally included.)
  2. If you begin service during the middle of the month, then there is a prorated charge for the time when your service was active. Remember that you should be charged only for when the plan or feature was active on this account.
  3. There are also one-time charges included in this statement. Some examples include equipment purchases, equipment shipping and handling, activation and installation fees.

As we stated, Frontier charges for next month’s bill in advance. Therefore, these charges will also be included in your bill.

What’s included in your bill

You should find your name and account number on this invoice. Typically your invoice will contain charges for the following:

  1. Account Number: This is your 17-digit account number. There is also a 4-digit PIN number for added security. Be sure to retain this number for your records.
  2. Billing Date: This is the date your bill was issued. Any service or changes made after that date will be reflected in your next billing statement. The billing cycle is generally for thirty days.
  3. New Charges Due Date: The date Frontier must receive your payment to avoid late fees from being incurred.
  4. Previous Balance: This is unpaid charges from previous months. It carries over to your current bill date.
  5. Payment Received Thru: The date Frontier received your last payment along with the payment amount.
  6. Balance Forward: Your previous balance minus payments received.
  7. New Charges: All charges incurred from the current thirty-day cycle.
  8. Total Amount Due: The total for all charges owed.
