Frontier Communications has a history of service complaints. You may have options to escalate your dispute and get the compensation you deserve.
Do your monthly charges continue to rise but you don’t know why? Are you racking up late fees and disconnection charges because you’ve fallen behind? Reducing your cable bill is possible. While negotiating your bill in person or over the phone is certainly an effective option, make sure you’ve also reviewed your bill, checked out promotions or discounts you can use, and canceled any service you don’t use.
If you’ve recently made changes to your service, be sure to verify that you are being billed properly. Customer service reps can make mistakes when they upgrade or change your service, which can result in overbilling or incorrect charges.
Some Frontier Communications customers report that they have outages with their internet services for several days. You may not automatically receive credit for this, so it’s a good idea to check. If you were billed the full amount, ask customer service to adjust for the days that your internet service did not work.
You should always check your bill for unauthorized charges or activity that you don’t recognize. The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission recently completed an investigation into the billing practices of Frontier. The results of their study found customers were charged for telephone services that they didn’t need or did not receive credits that were promised. The study also revealed that customers were charged for three-way or directory assistance calls that they did not make. Many of those customers did not receive credit for these unauthorized charges as promised.
By reviewing your bill, you can catch these errors early before they start to take a hit on your wallet.
It never hurts to ask if you can get a better rate. Try calling customer service and explain your situation. They may be able to give you a better rate or extra time to pay your bill. If you’ve shopped around and found a good price elsewhere, let them know. If they think you might leave for another provider, they may be willing to match the lower rate.
Frontier offers a few programs that provide discounts for eligible individual customers.
You may be able to get a discount on your services through your work. Through a participating employer, you may be eligible to receive free installation of Frontier’s television and internet service, a free modem, a free DVR receiver, as well as $5 off of your monthly bill. This discount plan is available on select Frontier Communication packages.
Low-income families may qualify for special pricing through the Lifeline program. Under this program, qualifying households can receive special pricing for either a home phone line or internet service. You must complete an application to determine if you are able to participate and the program is limited to one per household.
If you use Frontier Communications for your business, there may be a special incentive for you.
