How to Contact HomeAway

There’s more than one way to contact HomeAway. And if they don’t listen you have options…

HomeAway is owned by Expedia and it provides a market for vacation rental homes. It has over 1 million paid listings for homes in over 190 countries. But when you have a problem with them and you need to contact them, there are a few different options you have.

Their main address is one option:

1011 W 5th St Ste 300

Austin, TX 78703-5363

When you have issues, they recommend that you use their help center and of course, log in to your account on https://www.homeaway.com/ first. This allows them to track the issue as it relates to your account. It is also a way to find rudimentary answers to questions, but not necessarily a way to get a real person to help you out.

How do I get in touch with a real person when I contact HomeAway for help?

There are a few ways to get a real person.

You can of course call them. Their main number is: (512) 505-1525

If that doesn’t work, or the people on the other end aren’t effective at solving your problem, it might be time to take things to the next level, literally and figuratively. After all, the customer service rep is just a regular employee, probably making minimum wage and working virtually from their home, so you can try reaching out to the executive contacts:

How do I contact HomeAway with a legal complaint?

But just because you tried to email their executive contacts or reach out doesn’t mean you will get a real person, or a person who can fix the problem. People like you who just want to be heard and have their issue dealt with contact HomeAway to start a legal process. If you want to contact HomeAway to start a legal process, you can do it in one of two ways:

Start small claims court proceedings by contacting HomeAway at their legal address

Start by sending a demand letter to HomeAway, at their legal address. This is required before you start heading to the courthouse steps, paperwork in hand. Small claims court usually gets customers what they want, but it can take a while, and is a bit complicated because each state has different rules for how to put together paperwork and how to “serve” the company.

Demand consumer arbitration from HomeAway under your contract

Arbitration is another form of resolution, a legal option laid out in your agreement with them. The language in your user agreement will likely prohibit you from joining a class action lawsuit, or filing one, but a dispute resolution is an option you have. With this, an independent arbitrator is brought on board to review the situation and can force the company to fix it. To start consumer arbitration the first step is to contact HomeAway at their legal address with a legal notice. This can sometimes be enough to get them to take notice of your problem and fix it.

If you want to contact HomeAway with a legal notice or with your consumer arbitration complaints, we can help.
