Problems with products or service

Many customers complain about poor product quality and service. According to complaints lodged by the BBB, 62% of complaints against Midco have to do with product or service problems.

  1. Dropped internet connection – Customers complain that their internet connection drops almost daily.  Some customers report that this happens at just about the same time every day. Some also say that they can’t use multiple devices at the same time.  If you have a cellphone, tablet, smart TV, and a computer – this can be a real problem. .
  2. Slow internet speeds – Customers say that the speed of internet service that they receive is far less than what they pay for.     When Midco does send help, the onsite technicians can’t figure out why it’s running so slow or cutting out. Sometimes they send another tech and sometimes they don’t.
  3. Static or intermittent phone service – Common claims about Midco phone service are static on the lines or dropped calls.   This is a real frustration for people who are on an important phone call.

As one customer noted:

I pay for gig service and never get over 200 mb. I work from home and need reliable service. Once I connect VPN it drops to 20mb. I also play PC games and stream. This is the reason for gig service and once I start my service crash down to 5 mb at some times. I am hard line connected to the modem they gave with their Ethernet and the service is horrible.”

Billing mistakes

Customers that review their bill see higher rates being charged than what they were told.  There are also unauthorized charges or unexpected fees that customers were not aware of. According to complaints lodged by the BBB, 25% of complaints against Midco have to do with billing mistakes.

In fact, the billing mistakes often complained about on the BBB Midco page show that Midco responds often, but when they do they take a very defensive tone and offer no resolution or attempt at understanding/acknowledging the customer issues.

Poor customer service

Customers report sitting on hold for several minutes before speaking with a customer service representative. Midco also provides a live chat feature, which some people report as hard to use when you can’t speak with a representative over the phone.  Other complaints stem around technical support and their inability to fix service problems.

After multiple failed attempts to get an appointment for internet service, one customer noted that:

Customer service seemed unapologetic stating it’s up the franchise to determine how they conduct cancellations.”
