What's Included in Your Bill

On the Navient bill pay statement you will see the following:

  • Current balance
  • Payment made
  • Amount owed
  • Minimum payment required
  • Changes made during the billing cycle
  • Past due amount

How to Read Your Statement

Below you will find step-by-step instructions outlining how to read your Navient bill.

  • Billing Summary: The Billing Summary is the first thing that you will notice located at the top of the statement. It contains your 10-digit Account Number, Loan Group Number (please remember that each private loan that has been transferred will have its own unique Loan Group Number) and the billing period dates.
  • Activity Summary: Directly below the Billing Summary is the Activity Summary which shows the information about the Previous Statement Balance, any Fees Assessed, Accrued Interest, Payments Since Last Bill, and your Current Balance as of the statement date.
  • Past Due Amount (Pay Now): Under the Activity Summary is the Past Due Amount (Pay Now) amount. The amount must be paid by the date listed to avoid a late fee. This is the total amount that has not been paid since the last statement. With Navient pay my bill requirements, you must pay the past due amount.
  • Current Amount Due: Beneath the Past Due Amount (Pay Now) column is the Current Amount Due which is the amount that you must pay for the specified statement. This is the amount that is currently due. It only reflects the current amount due and does not take into consideration any past due amount that might have carried over onto the statement.
  • Total Payment Due: This is the sum of the current amount due on the statement, any past due amount, and any unpaid fees.
  • Loan Information: All loan information is in the middle section of the statement. You’ll see an in-depth and complete breakdown of all your loan information such as the Interest Rate, Unpaid Interest, Unpaid Principal, Unpaid Fees, and your Current Balance. All the information is placed in easy to read boxes so you can quickly look over the statement to see the current status of your loan.
  • Transaction Summary: The Transaction Summary is positioned right below the Loan Information boxes. It clearly shows your payments for each one of the transactions on your loans.

Payment Slip: You might want to pay your Navient bill online. However, if you opt to pay your bill using the USA mail which is the traditional way to pay then you’ll want to use the payment slip at the bottom of your bill. You will carefully detach the payment slip and include it with your payment. Send the payment slip and the payment to the address below. When making a payment using the payment slip, always include your Loan Group Number on your check so you can help ensure that your payment is applied properly to the correct loan and there are no processing delays.

Setting Up Online Bill Pay

Online bill pay is easy to set up and you’ll be able to see immediately when your Navient bill has posted. Navient bill pay online is also available. Online payments tend to take 24 hours to post or longer during holidays and weekends. If you are mailing your Navient loan payment then please give it ample time to arrive since the Navient considers your payment late and charge a late fee (which will be reflected on your statement) if you fail to get the payment to them on time.

Navient Bank Mobile App

Once you have your online account set up and you are receiving online statements then you can use the Navient Bank mobile app to access your account and view your statement. You’ll be able to see any and all changes to your bill using the app.
