From masslive.com:
SPRINGFIELD — City officials have been negotiating with Comcast for a new license to operate in the city and expect to have a new agreement hammered out shorty, according to the office of Mayor Domenic Sarno.
In late December, Sarno notified Comcast that he would not renew the cable giant’s license to operate in Springfield. The agreement expired on Dec. 26 but the company is still able to operate.
A Comcast spokesperson said negotiations are going well, and an agreement will be reached shortly, and there has been no interruption in service.
