Six weeks ago, when the last major obstacle to the T-Mobile – Sprint merger was removed, I talked to Dan Hesse about the logic of the merger and its implications for 5G.
With the transaction completed last week, I thought I’d follow up and ask him about his important relationship with T-Mobile CEO John Legere.
As background on Dan Hesse: during Hesse’s years as Sprint’s CEO, the company was recognized 20 times by J.D. Power and Associates for excellence in customer service and named the most improved U.S. company in overall customer satisfaction by the American Customer Satisfaction Index. For his last two full calendar years as CEO, Sprint’s Total Shareholder Return ranked #1 among all S&P 500 companies.
Robert Reiss: The merger of T-Mobile USA and Sprint last week should transform the U.S. wireless industry. Two of the key players in the history of these companies are John Legere and you. I’ve read that John is a protégé of yours, which is surprising as you appear so different.
