Step-by-step guide to understanding your bill

Accessing your bill

Let’s start with access to your Vivint bill. There are two ways you can view your Vivint invoice. This can be done online or through the app. Be sure to have your username and password ready to gain access if you are viewing the invoice online.

Reviewing your Vivint bill

There are a couple of things you should keep in mind when reviewing your Vivint bill. If it is your first bill, it will most likely be higher than your next bill for the following reasons:

  1. Vivint charges for the first full month of service in advance. (Therefore the second month’s service is normally included.)
  2. If you begin service during the middle of the month, then there is a prorated charge for the time when your phone was in use. Remember that you should be charged only for when the plan or feature was active in the account.
  3. There also may be activation fees and equipment charges.

Keep in mind that Vivint charges for next month’s bill in advance. Therefore, the following will be included in your bill as well:

  1. Rate plan charges for data, voice, and messaging services
  2. Data and/or messaging packages.
  3. Additional services, like mobile insurance
  4. Taxes, surcharges, and fees
  5. Applicable Discounts.

What’s included in your Vivint bill

Let’s turn to the Vivint bill itself. Typically the bill will contain an invoice for the following:

  1. Balance Adjustments: This is the amount for charges that are still owed from your previous bill. The online tool permits you to view these balance adjustments.
  2. Account Charges: This is the amount charged to the entire account. Some examples include a late fee or past due balance.
  3. Late Payment Charge
  4. Tax Charges

If your Vivint bill is still unclear, there are more options

  1. Contact Vivint Using Their Chat Tool. The chat tool may speed up the process of getting support rather than waiting on long phone hold times.
  2. Contact Vivint’s Customer Support Number at 801-377-9111.
  3. If you are unsure how much of your service plan is being used, you may keep track of your Vivint data usage online or by phone.

Ok, none of that worked, now what?
