Ally Bank offers checking and savings accounts for consumers auto loans, personal loans, mortgages, as well as investing in retirement options. With so many different financial services it can be a headache to figure out which number relates to your account. However, this article breaks down who to contact, when, for which issues to make it a bit easier.
The only number that remains the same no matter what type of financial service you have is the fraud department. Other than that, there are a lot of different numbers to call with slightly different hours of operation. Their main customer service number is: 1 (877) 247-2559.
For auto loans, you can log in to your account to start a chat or send it to your email. Alternatively you can call the main customer service line for auto loans at 1-888-925-2559 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. through 11 p.m. eastern time. You can also phone on Saturdays 9 a.m. through 7 p.m. eastern time.
If you are calling from outside the United States you can reach them at 1-316-652-6430. To report fraud the number is 1-833-226-1520, and you select option one.
Your auto loan may be managed by other companies. If it is managed by American Suzuki, which will be indicated on all of your paperwork and your account, the number to call is 1-888-895-5778. If your auto loan is managed by National Auto Finance company and Nuvell Credit Company, the number to call is 1-833-226-1520.

For Consumer banking, you can use online banking to deposit checks or access documents. They recommend you use the E-Check deposit feature or send secure messages after logging into your account. Alternatively they suggest you use the Ally mobile app where possible. Still, if you want to reach a person to discuss your account or a problem with hidden fees the main customer service number is 1-877-247-2559.
If you are calling from outside of the United States the number to use is 1-757-247-2559. In the event you are dealing with fraud, you must report it using a different number, 1-833-226-1520, and you select option two.

If you have a home loan with Ally the main customer service line is 1-855-256-2559. You can call them Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. through 10 p.m. eastern Time, or Saturdays 10 a.m. through 4 p.m. eastern time. However, if you have an issue with fraud the number to call is their fraud department at 1-833-256-1520. Select option four.
The Lending Department was formerly HCS. This is for personal loans. If you have to contact them with questions about your bill or your account, the number is +1-888-568-0186 and you can call Monday through Saturday 8 a.m. through 10 p.m. eastern time. If you will have to report fraud on your account to the number is 1-833-226-1520 and you select option five. If you need to mail payments use the following address:

For investment accounts, you are encouraged to send an email directly to email@example.com or log in to your account and use the chat function. Alternatively you can call 1-855-880-2559 or from outside the US 1-818-459-4591. Investments is the only department where customer service is available 24/7.

If you still have an issue with your Ally bank account or your auto loan, and customer service just doesn’t come through you have legal alternatives. Firstly you can file a complaint with FairShake. Your user agreement probably prevents you from joining things like class action lawsuits but you can still sue in small claims court or file an official dispute using consumer arbitration.
