Keep reading to find out how you can get your Cox Communication bill under control:

Analyze your monthly bill

Finding ways to cut your monthly charges always starts with analyzing your bill.  You want to make sure that you are being billed for the amount that you agreed to and are getting the services that you signed up for.  Take the time to read and understand your bill, every month. This helps to ensure that you are being billed for the services and the amounts that you agree to.  When we skip reviewing your bills, you can find yourself paying for things that you shouldn’t be.

Cox discounts and promotions

For new customers, Cox offers a variety of bundled plans.  You can get a combination of internet, cable, and phone service for discounted rates.  Most bundled rates require a two-year service commitment, however the lower rate typically lasts only 12 months.  Keep in mind that after the initial promotion period ends, you will be charged standard rates for your service.

Post-promotional deals

When your first-year deal is up, you may be eligible for one of their post-promotional offer.  Typically these are the same deals that you have now, only with a slightly higher price. Contact customer service or upgrade online.

Cox Connect2Compete promotion

Low-income families that have a child in school between the grades of K-12 may be eligible to participate in this program.  For $9.95 per month, eligible families can get high-speed internet in their homes. To participate, families must have at least one child attending school between grades K – 12 and receive assistance from a designated government program including SNAP and the National School Lunch Program.  This offer is extended to customers that had no internet service through Cox for at least 90 days and have no outstanding equipment fees. Find out more about this program here.

Lifeline program

Cox participates in the Lifeline program which offers low-income households an inexpensive rate for a phone line.  Eligibility is based upon income and participation in government financial assistance programs. You must reapply every year to keep this low-rate.

Speak to customer service

If you find yourself struggling to pay your bills, try contacting customer service for help.  Many times, regional discount programs or offers may be available to you that aren’t always listed on their website.  From time to time, Cox may offer additional discounts for veterans, students, and the elderly. They may also be able to help you assess what services you need to help you reduce your monthly bill.  If you have a better quote from a competitor, they may be willing to match it.

Whenever you make a change to your account, be sure to understand the terms of any contracts or agreements that you are entering into.  If you decide that you no longer want the service, you may be stuck with early termination or cancellation fees.
