Get Frontier Communications to Fix Your Credit Report

You have worked hard to establish a good credit score. Do not allow Frontier Communications to ruin that by making errors or worse, implementing illegal debt collection practices

Federal law protects you against a collections department reporting inaccurate or unsupported items on your credit report. If a company like Frontier Communications becomes aware they reported incorrect information to a credit bureau such as Equifax,  Experian, and/or TransUnion, the company must fix any errors by reporting the mistakes.

If you think that Frontier Communications should remove a negative item from your credit report, here’s how to do it:

1

CONTACT THE FRONTIER COMMUNICATIONS COLLECTIONS DEPARTMENT:

Under federal regulations, you can dispute your credit report directly with Frontier Communications. To submit the dispute, send a letter containing your name and account information, the account number for the debt in question, a description of the dispute, and any supporting evidence to the Frontier Communications collections department. The address for the collections department should be on a credit report or within the Frontier Communications terms of service contract.

Send your letter by certified mail so you can prove that Frontier Communications received it. In most cases, a company like Frontier Communications has 30 days from receiving your letter to finish a reasonable investigation and then send you the results. If they agree that you’re right, they have to notify the credit bureaus (like Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion) to delete the inaccurate information.

2

CONTACT THE THREE MAJOR CREDIT BUREAUS (TRANSUNION, EQUIFAX AND EXPERIAN):

If you don’t trust Frontier Communications to fix the credit report issues, federal law also requires the credit bureaus to investigate all credit information reported as inaccurate. The credit bureaus will investigate your Frontier Collections dispute by reporting it to the original company. Therefore, reporting to Frontier Communications and the credit bureaus should increase your chances of getting favorable results.

To report your Frontier Communications collections department dispute to the credit bureaus, use the following links: TransUnion customer service click here, Experian customer service dispute click here, and Equifax customer service dispute click here. In most cases, the credit bureaus are responsible for sending you an outcome of their investigation within 30 days of your submission.

3

MAKE A LEGAL CLAIM AGAINST FRONTIER COMMUNICATIONS THROUGH CONSUMER ARBITRATION

If Frontier Communications and the credit bureaus refuse to correct the issue, you can continue to dispute the issue by filing a consumer arbitration against Frontier Communications and contesting the negative information in a hearing.

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS

If you do not receive the result of a Frontier Communications collections department investigation within 30 days of informing the company about a inaccurate credit report, you may be entitled to up to $1000 in damages under the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act.
