Can I get a refund from Curb Taxi?

Need help getting the CurbTaxi refund you’re owed? You may have legal options

Have you recently used Curb Taxi but there was a problem with the service? Did they over charge you for something you didn’t end up using? If that’s the case, you might be wondering whether or not you can get a refund from Curb Taxi.


If you choose to cancel a ride that you’ve already booked you can do so but if you cancel more than 30 seconds after a driver has been assigned, you get charged an extra $3. In this situation it is unlikely that they will give you a refund unless of course you did cancel within that window but they still charged you that extra $3.

Refund Policy

The terms for Curb Taxi stipulate that any payments you make in connection with the taxi rides that you book, set up, or pay for using the service are considered non-refundable. This applies very specifically to situations where you’ve already paid for a service or already booked a service and failed to cancel within the applicable cancellation window.

However, the terms for the company also state that you may qualify for an additional refund under the card agreement you have with whatever banking institution you use. Effectively this means that if there’s a discrepancy, maybe they charge you for something that you don’t think they should have and you want a refund, your best bet is to go through whatever banking service or credit card you used and try to get the refund issued on that end.

The terms also say that if you are using the app and the app stops working, you can go through Apple to get a refund for the purchase price of the app because of this. This language is fairly similar to the information about refunds in that they want you to go through Apple from whom you purchased the app rather than through their company. 

Other than this there’s no information on their website or in their help section that has to do with refunds of any kind. This doesn’t mean however that you have no options. 

How do I get a refund?

If you absolutely have an issue that you feel warrants a refund and it falls within the terms of your user agreement, you canceled when you were supposed to or you tried to go through your bank but it didn’t do any good, you can try to reach out to customer service, although the company has no information on any procedure set up for getting refunds through customer service nor do they state anywhere that reaching out to customer service will get you a refund.

What happens if they don’t issue a refund I deserve? 

In some situations Curb Taxi doesn’t get back to you in a timely fashion and they don’t resolve the issue. If they don’t issue the refund that you deserve, something that is eligible under their contracts, you can try consumer arbitration.
